There are plenty of other walks you can do from the house so you don t have to use the car.
Tarn Hows (once owned by Beatrix Potter) is on our doorstep you can walk around the lake and take in the amazing views of the surrounding mountains Old Man of Coniston Langdale Pikes and Fairfield to name a few is also on the doorstep and within walking distance.
Also within easy walking distance (15 mins) is the popular local Inn The Drunken Duck that has a fantastic restaurant and even has its own micro brewery.
We are within a short walking distance to Hawkshead Village where there are a choice of shops and eateries.
Our extensive grounds are inhabited by a variety of wild life comprising red deer roe deer red squirrel and a multitude of songbirds.We also have have ponds and streams which makes this one of the most tranquil settings in the Lake District.
