Hotel Details
Situated in the conventional heart of the village of Askrigg Sykes s House is thought to have been contructed around 1687 and can be found opposite the most beautiful 15th century church of St Oswald s. The property has undergone many changes over the years from being a family home to having once been a Temperance Hotel. All renovations have been made sympathetically. Wet coats can be left here overnight rather than dripping in your room! Throughout all the changes the property still maintains many of its original architectural features comprising the stone spiral staircase exposed beams and fireplaces. There is a large secure covered courtyard that can accommodate bicycles and has plenty of room for any maintenance you may need to do. Now it is a thriving village store with two large en suite bathroom letting rooms as well as a tea room.
