It has managed to preserve many historic features of the town such as the round house horsepond and many other local buildings dating back to the 16th century.
The hotel is owned and managed by Daniel Patrick along with family and staff.
Pets are also permitted in the main drinks bar area.
Please tell us in ahead of time if you require one of these bedrooms.
They all have external access allowing us to accept pets.
We also have five courtyard guestrooms one of which is our honeymoon suite.
We are able to offer colour TV tea and coffee making facilities radio telephone iron and board and hairdryer.
The George Hotel which was originally a coaching inn now has 17 individually decorated en suite bathroom bedrooms.
The bisro drinks bar is an open dining region with an extensive menu.
The main drinks bar has retained its character and has an original inglenook fireplace with an elm beam said to date back to the 10th century.
We also have a restaurant a full a la carte menu 7 days a week.
The hotel has two main drinks bar areas offering an extensive range of excellent food and drinks.
