The City of Durham is a 20 minute drive away and our guest bed and Breakfast accommodation is reasonably close to the A68 a major route to and from Scotland.

Dowfold House guest bed and Breakfast is in a quiet location over looking Crook with impressive views over Weardale as far as the North Pennines.

From railway rides to walks and cycle rides from gardens to more strenuous pursuits.

Our rooms are comfy and well-equipped all with ensuite facilities while our home and gardens offer plenty of opportunity for real comfort - or wickedly competitive croquet! Guests absolutely love it here.
It s a brilliant encapsulation of all that we try to do - and I half-wish I d thought of it myself although it sounds better from a third-party.
