A walk on ferry will take you over to the other side of the river tide permitting in the summer.

Closer to home we have Topsham a most beautiful old town that has lovely walks around the narrow streets and boats along the Estuary there is also a R.S.P.B.
Dartmoor and Exmoor have plenty of walks and sight seeing.
Walkers will really enjoy the Jurassic coastline which runs from Exmouth all along the coat to Pool in Dorset.
