Horse racing takes place here at the May and August bank holidays. Nearby is the village of Cartmel with its shops and 11th century Priory. Grange is ideally placed for all major routes to the Lakes. There you can also view the Prom Art exhibitions on the last Sunday in the month from April to September. You can really enjoy a game of bowls tennis or crazy golf. The traffic complimentary Promenade is the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll with a breathe taking view across the bay to Arnside and Silverdale. The monks of Cartmel Priory stored their grain here until the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry Vlll in 1536.The site can still be seen on the Main Street.
