The history of Hawkhurst goes back over 1 000 years. The oldest known settlement was the Saxon manor of Congehurst which was burnt by the Danes in 893 AD. Both rooms share a large bathroom opposite. Our rooms have recently been refurished and look out towards our gardens both rooms have twin guest beds Freeview television complimentary internet wifi Tea / Coffee making facility. Food is available seven days a week from 12 lunchtime until 9pm we also have a seperate restaurant and function room perfect for parties / meetings. We have two bars catering for all tastes one with an open fire pool darts and high definition television and a quieter relaxed conventional ambience in the other. We offer a fine choice of conventional cask and keg ales lagers spirits and wines. Hawkhurst is famous for smuglers and especially The Hawkhust Gang It is also very popular with walking parties following the trails through the lush countryside. There is still a lane of this name to the east of the village.
