The newly opened Sandstone Way cycle route comes through Simonburn.
Northumberland National Park has recently achieved the Darkest Skies in Europe status and Simonburn has one of the darkest skies from our most beautiful windows you can see an amazing array of stars in the night sky.
The National Byway Loop Cycle Route that uses Hexham as its base is a 23 mile round trip easily achievable in one day and includes Simonburn in its sign-posted route.
Hadrian s Wall is a comfy two and a half miles walk from Simonburn.
You may even recognise some of the picturesque village green and surrounding houses that were used in the making of several of the Catherine Cookson films!
