Rothwell known locally as Rowell was granted a charted by King John in AS1240 permitting a weekly market and an annual fair which takes place the week following Trinity Sunday.
Holy Trinity Church situated 3 minutes to walk away has one of only two known bone crypts in the country it contains the remains of around 1500 people.
Whilst this is great fun and well attended due to it s popularity it can be noisy.
