The arrival of Brunel s railway in 1859 led to the devolpment of Paignton as a seaside town Brunel s viaduct with the steam train crossing over it is quite a site.
There are also numerous listed buildings one of which is Torre Abbey where you are able to discover 800 years of history.
If your interest is history you can go to Kents caverns for an underground journey where Britain s oldest jawbone was unearthed.
We have plenty of most beautiful beaches and coves for you to tour in the bay the 2 nearest namely Preston beach this is attached to Paignton beach when the tide is out a little also past Paignton harbour you will find Goodrington beach this is a lovely walk from the guest house along the coastal path.
If you don t want to venture far we are approx 200 yds from Paignton Green the Pier and most beautiful Paignton beach.
This means you are never far from a coastal walk or a quick public transport ride to get you around the bay to make the most of your holiday.
