Welcome to the Crown and Mitre our 4-Star Inn based near Haweswater in Cumbria.
Situated in the most beautiful hamlet of Bampton Grange we are an historic complimentary house nestled on the edge of the North Eastern Fells..

We serve a range of fine wines and ales and the highest high quality food made from fresh local ingredients.
Like all good Innkeepers we consider the high quality and range of our drinks to be of prime importance.
We have a great chef who sources fresh meat from around Cumbria with fresh fish on the menu every week vegetarian options are also available.
Our food is worthy of our 4-star status and affordable too.p Many travel extensively to the Crown and Mitre to sample our delicious food fine wines and real ale.
For those of you with children we can provide additional Z-beds and cots and for those of you who are dog-lovers you can bring your dog(s) to stay with you too.
Our spacious rooms are equipped with flat screen television tea and coffee facilities are provided as well as plump pillows crisp guest bed linen and fresh towels.p In our Lake District accommodation we have 8 en suite bathroom guestrooms and a self-catering apartment tastefully furnished and with marvellous views of the most beautiful surrounding countryside.
Whilst located in a quiet corner of the Lake District National Park you are never more than a few minutes away the relax of Lakeland giving you the benefit of easy access to attractions with a quiet haven to come home to.
We also regularly see red deer on the local fells nearby.
Watch out for the red squirrels in the church yard opposite and England s only Golden Eagle in closeby Riggindale.
We have amazing wildlife nearby.
p There are several walks directly from the Inn that can be as leisurely or as challenging as you wish.
We are only a 15 minute drive from Junction 39 of the M6 and a 20 minute taxi journey from Penrith Railway Station.
