The George Hotel is a conventional country public house in the village of Orton in Cumbria dating back to 1826.
We have 8 rooms in total 6 are ensuite 2 have a shared bathroom with a bath.
We also have the world famous Kennedy s chocolate factory just across the road which is a real treat for all visitors.
We are also on the Coast 2 Coast walk and cycle routes and the W2W cycle route as well.
We are easy to find as Orton is just 3 minutes away Junction 38 M6 Motorway or 4 scenic miles from Junction 39.
We have a good choice of real ales from Jennings wines and soft drinks in the drinks bar region you can choose to eat in the 33 seater restaurant or in the drinks bar area.
We also have 3-4 vegetarian options normally available and we also have a good choice of gluten complimentary meals as well.
We serve a conventional menu at lunchtime and evenings ranging from gourmet burgers homemade pies to sizzling steaks or freshly battered cod.
A full English breakfast is on offer.
Enjoy a terraced beer garden for the summer or a roaring log fire in the winter you will always get a warm welcome and somewhere to relax whatever the weather.
We now also have facilities for up to 4 tents at the rear of the pub.
All rooms have a TV tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryer ironing board available on request.
