Hotel Details
The Buck Hotel originally a coaching Inn sits in the heart of a most beautiful village amidst the rolling countryside. A real living fire and a congenial welcome extended to pet dogs awaits. In May and June every year Reeth becomes the hub of the Swaledale Festival a two-week celebration of small-scale music and guided walks. The village is overlooked by the fells of Fremington Edge and Calver Hill. In Saxon times Reeth was only a settlement on the forest edge but by the time of the Norman Conquest it had grown sufficiently in importance to be noted in the Doomsday Book. A popular spot for walkers and cyclists Reeth is located at the meeting point of the two most northerly of the Yorkshire Dales: Swaledale and Arkengarthdale. Seating to the front and the secret walled garden are ideal places to sample a fine choice of real ales whiskeys and ciders. Aged beamed ceilings and a vast array of brass along with a menu full of home cooked food makes this an perfect place to stay within The Dales.
