Humphries Cross is a large Edwardian country house in an idyllic location set in 15 acres of gardens and grounds surrounded by farmland in an region of outstanding natural beauty. The Victorian portion of the house which was the original farmhouse dates back to the early 1800 s. For those wanting a day trip to France the ferry port of Dover is only a hours drive. The conventional seaside Town of Hastings Ashford Railway Stn with its direct access to London and the Designer Outlet Centre are all only a 35 minute drive away. We are also a short drive away from various National Trust Properties comprising Lamb House Smallhythe Place and Bodiam Castle. Within 10 miles of the property you can visit the Award winning Chapel Down Winery shop in the most beautiful ancient Town of Tenterden or take a leisurely cruise or kayak down the River Rother from Bodiam Boating Station. Just 5 miles away we have the pretty Ancient Town of Winchelsea and its large shingle beach Camber Sands with its vast expanse of sandy beach and dunes and a little further RSPB Dungeness. Popular Festivals comprise Rye Bay Scallop festival Medieval Siege of Rye and the Bonfire Parade with flaming torches and fire works.
