The White Lion is a conventional 17th century public house with accommodation that has been recently converted from our former coach house and stables.
We are situated in the heart of Soberton village which is quintessentially English an region of Outstanding Beauty and within the South Downs National Park.
Southampton which is a major port and the closest city to the New Forest or Winchester England s ancient capital all are within a 30 minute drive.
However with the closeby links to the M27 and M3 it is also the ideal base to visit Portsmouth and its harbour which is home to some famous ships and the waterfront region which is dominated by the Spinnaker Tower.
The White Lion at Soberton is an excellent base for a rural holiday break with an abundance of walking on the doorstep.
This atmospheric old public house still retains its open fires and wood burning stoves wooden flooring and a very warm welcome.
We offer a daily menu and a specials menu in both our restaurant or drinks bar area.
We have a reputation for delicious locally sourced food and popular local real Ales from the Bowman Brewery in Wallops Wood.
If you still have room: finish with toast and preserves and an endless supply of tea and coffee.
This is then followed by a option of either a Full English Breakfast or two lighter options comprising a vegetarian choice.
For breakfast our guests are offered a option of cereals fresh fruit and yoghurt.
