A warm welcome awaits you in this 16th century restaurant with rooms.
The George is located on the edge of the village green in Cavendish positioned in between the popular villages of Clare and Long Melford and just a short drive from the timeless village of Lavenham.
Our guestrooms offer crisp white linen flat screen televisions internet wifi internet access and complimentary tea and coffee facilities.
All four guestrooms have a unique sense of charm with exposed beams sash windows and views of the village green and church.
The rooms are located just above the restaurant itself so you are only a short flight of stairs from a chilled glass of wine or a pint of ale from Nethergate our local brewery just a few miles away.
We also have a family room additional guest bed and cot facilities and we can also make one of our rooms in to twin beds.
The Restaurant is Closed on Sunday Evenings.
We have four contempary rooms available for guest bed and breakfast priced from £60.00 single occupancy £85.00 double occupancy and £140.00 for dinner guest bed and breakfast (available Monday - Saturday).
We aim to use the highest high quality sustainably sourced ingredients and utilise our garden to grow seasonal items such as baby leaf beetroot edible flowers tomatoes and herbs to use on the menu.
The menus change frequently and are guided by the seasons.
The menus offer a wide range of dishes to suit all tastes and budgets.
The Emphasis at The George is on high quality of food and customer service.
Since October 2010 co-owners Lewis Bennet and Bonnie Steel have achieved their 2 Rosettes and four gold stars from the AA and Visit Britain tourist guides.
