A delightful 19th Century coaching inn with a comfy lounge region drinks bar and dining area. The inn has recently undergone a huge renovation to bring the property back to life. TO NOTE Should you wish to dine in our restaurant please make separate arrangements by contacting us directly as our restaurant is often fully booked and therefore cannot guarantee residents a table We are a very busy and lively public house and restaurant and therefore not ideally suited for children Due to the nature of our business and our location on the High Street in a bustling village noise may travel into our rooms which are located above our drinks bar and restaurant. Our twin room has a walk in wet room and our doubles a high power shower and bath All.bedrooms are equipped with large flat screen television s hair dryer Dolce Gusto coffee machine with tea and coffee making facilities. All guestrooms are newly refurbished to a very high standard. There are four rooms available. When Mary died in 1900 her son Frank took over as licensee and stayed on until 1925 when the family sold the Waggon to Robinson s Brewery Stockport. By 1887 Joseph s widow Mary was licensee and owner. In Saddleworth public houses and their licencees 1674-1998 Rob Magee notes that about 1882 Joseph Bradbury a Stone Merchant became beer retailer at the Waggon Inn High Street Uppermill. The Waggon Inn was established in 1882 by Joseph Bradbury and has a long tradition of providing hospitality and accommodation to local residents and visitors to Uppermill.
