The Old Castle Hotel is located half way between Weymouth and Portland so is ideally placed for all activities.
Weymouth town and old Harbour is a 20 min walk with fantastic view across Portland Harbour.
All the usual activities are here with local shows on the beach.
The local beaches are literally impressive and consist of sand which sweeps around the bay changing to shingle along to the promenade.
Weymouth is on the Jurassic coast and for us to list all that is brilliant about Weymouth and its surrounding is impossible.
We were the destination public house for GB s olympic sailing team and its not unheard of to see the likes of Ben Ainsley sat at the bar.
And if you are into your nature then there s Chesil Beach for all you bird and animal lovers and of course all you water sport fans are spoilt for option windsurfing kite surfing canoeing water skiing boat trips diving and sailing are all available within a few minutes to walk or drive.
There is the Rodwell Trail an excellent walk and track for the bikers.
