The motivation for creating our public house and restaurant was straightforward we felt there was nowhere in the region offering what we wanted in a place to eat and drink.
Somewhere with a relaxed ambience where you could feel equally comfy in a pair of jeans or a suit and tie.
Since opening the doors of our renovated inn and restaurant it has gone from strength to strength.
It seems we weren t the only ones looking for this kind of eating experience.
And although the food is important it s only part of the package we want our guests to really enjoy the whole experience to be made to feel special.
Food that has been prepared with care and presented with professional flair and imagination.
We are very proud to have received an AA rosette for our restaurant and 4 stars for our accommodation! We re inspired to offer not only good food but something a little unusual something a bit exceptional.
We are very proud to have been listed in the 2015 Michelin Guide one of only two restaurants in the Carlisle area.
