Previously an old coaching inn and famous fishing lodge on the main A837 Lairg - Lochinver Road the Altnacealgach has been catering for outdoor sportsmen and fisherman since Victorian times.
Following a catastrophic fire in 1986 the inn was rebuilt as a pub/restaurant and motel the pub/restaurant in the old converted barn and the accommodation in a new self contained block.
