The Kings Arms Hotel was constructed in the early 17th Century and was visited by many famous people comprising Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745 Robbie Burns and Sir Walter Scott in 1813.
Thankfully the hotel has been completely renovated since those days! We have retained many conventional features comprising cosy log fires (during winter months) and have succumbed to central heating constant hot water breakfast in guest bed and many more contemporary comforts that we really enjoy so much.
All of this and we are only a half mile from the M74 with speedy access to Glasgow 72 miles Edinburgh 72 miles and The Lakes 50 miles.
For Robert Burns fans Dumfries is the place for you with his cottage and the museum.
If you wish to explore at a leisurely pace a visit to Drumlanrig and Caerlaverock Castles Traquair House and Sweetheart Abbey is a must.
Fishing is plentiful at Castle Loch Lochmaben or on the rivers Annan Dryfe Esk or Milk.
