Drem Farmhouse is a large Georgian house set in the picturesque conservation village of Drem situated in the heart of East Lothian surrounded by golf courses beaches and within very easy reach of Edinburgh.
It is the family home of Hugh and Marlene Smith who welcome their guests for guest bed and Breakfast (evening meals available with ahead of time notice).
Other attractions comprise the Castle Hollyrood Palace The new Scottish Parliament and the Royal Yacht Britannia at Ocean Terminal.
The very best times of year to visit are Hogmanay and during the Edinburgh festival (on for the whole of August).
Edinburgh is only 25 minutes by rail (Drem station 5 minutes to walk from the house) and slightly longer by road and has everything you would expect from such a historic capital city.
With over twenty golf courses in the region comprising Muirfield Links East Lothian is a golfers paradise however there are many other attractions for non-golfers.
Drem s location in the heart of East Lothian is ideal for discovering the surrounding countryside.
From the courtyard there s access to the upper part of the garden where amongst the shrubs and trees you can discover the ancient ivy-covered remains of a medieval Knights Templar chapel.
